Mae’r ysgol bellach wedi dechrau’n ôl tymor yma, ac mae criw STEM Gogledd wedi dechrau ar eu gwaith o gwmpas rhai ysgolion Uwchradd Gwynedd, Môn a Chonwy.
Nod STEM Gogledd yw ysbrydoli, hyrwyddo a chefnogi addysg STEM i bobl ifanc rhwng 11-19 oed drwy gynnig cyfleoedd arbennig iddynt a dangos perthnasedd y pynciau hyn o fewn eu gyrfaoedd yn y dyfodol.
Yn niweddarach y flwyddyn yma, cynhaliwyd sesiwn treialu gyda chriw o flwyddyn 9 Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni yng Nghanolfan Wyddoniaeth Menai, M-Sparc, Ynys Môn. Yma cafwyd sesiwn o hanner diwrnod o weithio gyda’r Hwb STEM Gogledd, a rhoddwyd adborth defnyddiol yn ôl i’r tîm. Cafwyd ambell i weithgaredd difyr gyda’r Mentoriaid STEM hefyd, ymhle gofynnwyd i’r bobl ifanc feddwl am ba swyddi oedd yn berthnasol i STEM a cheisio creu broga bychan allan o bapur – enghraifft dda o sut mae STEM yn perthyn i nifer o elfennau o’n bywydau.

Schools have now started the new term, and the STEM Gogledd team have begun their work in schools across Gwynedd, Anglesey and Conwy.
STEM Gogledd’s aim is to inspire, promote and support STEM education for young people aged between 11-19 by offering valuable opportunities and show the relevance of their studies to their possible future careers.
Earlier this year STEM Gogledd held a trialing session with Year 9 pupils from Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni at Menai Science Park, M-Sparc, Anglesey. The half-day session was spent trialling the new STEM Gogledd Hub and valuable feedback was provided by the pupils. There were a couple of interesting activities for the pupils with the STEM Mentors also, where they were asked what types of jobs were associated with STEM and were asked to create a small frog using origami paper – another example of how STEM skills relate to almost all aspects of life.
“It was a great experience sharing ideas about the new website to make it as useful as possible. I really enjoyed trialling the site also.”
